La Terrasse

August 19, 2010

Those of you looking for a worthy place to dine around the Puerto Princesa area  should definitely consider this budding star. La Terrasse is located just off Rizal Ave., no more  than a hundred meters away from the airport. Personally managed by Ditchay Roxas of “Ditchay’s” fame, you simply cannot go wrong with this one. Vogue is the word to describe the place. Nice, classy interiors that merge modernity and a touch of retrospect with creative use of native materials.

Welcome to La Terrasse

Modern meets native interiors

On to what matters most, the food. The selection available range from simple and upfront to downright sinful. Some appetizers to consider are the crispy pork belly, the seafood fry, and the lamayo (sort of like a dried danggit). First time island visitors should also try the Palawan platter. Its a combination of roasted cashew, sweet & spicy dilis, roasted peanuts, and a dried fish.

One can’t go wrong with ordering some greens over here. The Salad varieties are to-die for as produce is sourced from local farms that grow them organically; and that makes a world of difference in terms of texture and taste of the produce. The yummy dressings complement the organically grown produce perfectly.

Come the main course. It was Absolutely fantastic. It looked at tasted good. The goat (either fried or in a curry) is worth looking into. Their version of the chicken-pork adobo is also note worthy.

In a nutshell, the place looks incredible, the food looks good, and more importantly the chow tastes excellent.
