Tagkawayan City Beach, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan

April 18, 2010

And that one too.

This secluded beach can be reached  just shy of an hour from the city. One has to head a bit north(about 25km) and then west.  Most locals know of this place but do not toot its horn to keep the beach away from too many visitors. It features fine sand in the whitish- brown hue, waves good for body boarding at the minimum, free-of-charge huts for picnics, and a good patch of trees for respite from the sun.Oh, there is also excellent stone and drift wood gathering opportunities here. The wide beach cove faces west and opens up to the South China sea – Excellent sunsets can be had here.

Excellent vistas on the way to the beach

Up-close and personal

Free-of-charge picnic huts (something very rare)

Pick me up

I agree with a good friend that this beach is a great spot to pitch tents and stay a night (or two), whip up food feasts, and space out while marvelling  at nature’s bounty. He always does this here. Waiting for my 4×4,  and then am off to the boonies.

Sheer heaven! May it stay that way without too many tourists invading. Also an excellent photographer if I may say so. One day, maybe, I’ll get to see it. Much love from Switzerland.
