Baggage

March 5, 2010

I am Tired!

All aboard!

It has almost been a week since the move to Palawan, and I am still very much fatigued from the packing-flying-unpacking, buying things, fixing the house, and work to boot. The one thought that is keeping me sane is the fact that the weekend is here and an adventure is definitely brewing in the horizon. The very first one since moving to the land known as the “Last Frontier” The options are limitless but for this one,  I will stick to a place that is within close proximity to the city but nonetheless offers nature’s finest.

Just last night, after nailing some shutters down and unpacking, my mind started wandering off to what had transpired over the course of the past week. Somehow, I was able to relate the literal meaning of baggage to its figurative meaning. Some of the thoughts that stood out the most were:

1)      Excess baggage on one person makes one’s load to carry heavier. The heavier the load, the harder to move.

2)      The baggage that one person brings should be the one that is essential to him. If it is not needed and cannot contribute positively to one’s moving forward, it is best to let it go.

3)      It is definitely good to sort through one’s baggage and evaluate what one needs or does not need every so often. Call it spring cleaning if you want.

4)      Everyone has unwanted baggage. It must be nipped in the bud. At the onset.

5)      It takes time to unload baggage, do not rush it. It is a slow process

Ah yes, the sun is already out. The roosters are at the tail end of their cackling, the birds are starting to singin’ sweet songs, and the crickets buzzing slowly fading. In just a few hours I am off to an excellent nature trip! Am tired. Not!
